Martin Hale

Hello My Name Is...

Martin Hale

I am truly honored to be a 5th Grade teacher at East Side Elementary (ESE) with the Hamilton County Department of Education (HCDE). This is my third year at ESE, after seven years at Red Bank Elementary (RBE). After completing my B.S. in Forestry at the University of the South (Sewanee), I worked as a Park Ranger for the City of Boston....where I designed and facilitated an Elementary Environmental Education program....which planted the teaching seed in my soul. I received my teaching degree (M.Ed) at The University of Massachusetts/Lowell. After graduate school, I was a Teacher/Counselor at a Wilderness Behavioral and Educational Program, then worked in Social Services for the next 20 years as a Counselor and Case Manager. As a 5th grade teacher, my goal is to create, nurture and foster an environment in which our students will become more confident and adept critical thinkers and problem solvers....empowering our students to believe, not only in themselves, but in each other as well.
